Vitro has been in the glass manufacturing business for more than 100 years. Founded in 1909 in Monterrey, Mexico, with subsidiaries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. They offer quality products and reliable services to meet business needs for glass containers, architectural glass, automotive glass, machinery & equipment, and chemicals. Vitro has been investing in its electrical infrastructure and chose VanTran to support those efforts. Retrofitting existing infrastructure is a challenge as production outages are infrequent, the change must happen as scheduled, and without any delays. VanTran met those demands when it delivered two 3000/3360/3750/4200 kVA 13.8kV Substation transformers. VanTran Transformers delivered a ‘plug-and-play’ solution accommodating existing infrastructure constraints along with matching field cable/bus connections.
With such a success, Vitro is looking to work with VanTran for its continued electrical infrastructure upgrades that will be ongoing for the next years.
VanTran Value Proposition
Standard lead time of 10-12 weeks met production outage window.
Transformers delivered on time making the outage window without any mounting or connection issues.
Other than the footprint and interconnection challenges, Vitro also wanted a 7% impedance and efficiency above 99%.
